Fundraiser benefits leukemia and lymphoma research | Cancer Kick

Sandy Gould calls the fundraisers in honor of her son, Jason, ?very gratifying? because she knows they have provided new hope to leukemia patients who previously didn?t have much positive news to embrace.

Jason Gould lived in Elburn most of his life and worked at the family?s apple cider mill before attending Northern Illinois University and graduating with a teaching degree.

He was a 33-year-old fifth-grade teacher in the Oswego school district when he passed away in 2006 from a viral complication following a transplant for leukemia, Sandy Gould said.

For the past three years, the family and a committee called Friends of Jason Gould have held Jason?s Hogfan Party to raise money for leukemia and lymphoma research. This year?s event takes place Sept. 8 at the St. Charles Moose Lodge.

?It?s been a wonderful event for people to attend because they can see what our money is doing,? Sandy said.

Last year the event raised $20,000 for the research of Dr. Rob Baiocchi, the lead cancer researcher from the Ohio State University Cancer Research Center. Baiocchi will again be the guest speaker at this year?s event.

In addition to hearing about how the fundraiser helps aid research, those in attendance will hear from a living example of the work that the Hogfan Party supports.

Dr. Trent Tipple, a 36-year-old pediatrician, survived the same type of viral lymphoma that Jason battled, Sandy said.

Baiocchi and his medical team created a new treatment for this cancer, with Tipple being one of the first survivors because of it.

?This is a cancer treatment for brain tumors, and people who were previously told they had only two months to live, are now surviving,? Sandy added. ?It is wonderful to hear about the research and treatments.?

And what about the Hogfan name?

Even though Jason attended NIU, he grew to love the sports teams at the University of Arkansas, where his father graduated, Sandy said.

The Goulds would love to see more people get involved in or attend the event. Those interested in making donations or learning more about the event can contact Sandy at (630) 267-6374. Donations can also be made on Jason?s website at friendsofjasongould.com.

In good hands: If you listen to the windbags in Congress enough, you?d be convinced our country is on a course of certain doom.

But then you hear about a young person like 12-year-old Alyssa Jacobsen of Batavia who was one of 11 kids from the Chicago area to earn a $1,000 scholarship from the Kohl?s Cares program.

It helps you realize we?ll be in good hands in the future.

Alyssa was one of 200 youths nationwide, chosen from 35,000 nominees, to receive the scholarship based on ?making a positive impact in their local communities.?

After seeing the devastation Joplin, Mo., endured from tornadoes last year, Alyssa convinced her family to change Florida vacation plans to instead travel to Joplin to provide help.

She raised enough funds to fill 30 backpacks with stuffed animals and school supplies that she gave to children in Joplin. She also helped efforts to distribute food and water.

Now, can we convince young Alyssa to think about running for Congress in the future?

Will odds change?: Another round of excitement, if that term even fits this situation any longer, is unfolding regarding the potential opening of the Golden Corral restaurant in Batavia.

As most residents know, the shell of the restaurant has been sitting at the Randall Road and Main Street corner for nearly five years. Most recently, the parking lot served as a holding area for Randall Road construction equipment. Otherwise, the property has provided no discernible benefit to the city.

Now, franchise owner Sam Gibson is talking about opening the site in September. He has made similar comments numerous times in the past, so Vegas oddsmakers likely wouldn?t budge on this. They?d still say the odds of such an opening date are not good.

Share mall ideas: Have any suggestions about what should happen with the Charlestowne Mall in the future?

If so, your voice should be heard at 7 p.m. Aug. 9 in the St. Charles City Council chambers when a ?visioning workshop? for the mall will take place.

From where I sit, figuring out a way to save Charlestowne Mall borders on impossible. Another concept or use for that site has to be considered. You don?t want to rule out the movie complex, which seems to do fairly well, but it?s tough to envision anything else making sense there.

Sadly, it might be time to admit St. Charles doesn?t take kindly to malls. The St. Charles Mall on the city?s west side, long ago knocked down and the site still not in use, would serve as exhibit A. The former Piano Factory mall near downtown, also long ago reduced to rubble to make way for the Brownstone townhouses, represents exhibit B. That makes Charlestowne Mall exhibit C.

Tee it up next year?: It was too bad that the annual Matt Kenney 3-on-3 basketball tournament in Geneva had to take a year off. Apparently not enough teams signed up, but who?s really thinking about basketball in this heat?

But how about golf? Organizer Sean McCurtain said it is possible the friends of the former Geneva High School student and athlete who died in a car accident at age 21 many years ago are now contemplating a golf outing instead of banging around inside of a gymnasium during a hot summer.

To complicate matters a bit, Geneva High School was putting a fresh coat of sealant on the basketball court last weekend, so the timing wasn?t too great this year. Even if enough teams signed up, McCurtain may have been scrambling to find a place to play.

Kenney?s older sister, Patti Reeder, came through in convincing friends to attend a fundraising portion of the event by gathering at Old Towne Pub Eatery last Saturday night. The festivities raised $4,800, McCurtain said, so that $1,000 scholarships in Kenney?s memory could be given to two Geneva High athletes ? Mark Becker and Rachel Hinchman.

Just a tiny hint of opportunity has a disproportionately powerful effect - making unfairness more acceptable to disadvantaged people, new research has found.

A study by Eugenio Proto, an economist from the Centre for Competitive Advantage in the Global Economy (CAGE) at the University of Warwick and two other co-authors, looked at decision-making and how it was influenced by people's perceptions of fairness.

Researchers set up a game between two people where one person (the proposer) offers to split 10 between themselves and their partner, with the proposer able to decide the exact amount he or she is willing to offer. If that amount is not accepted by to the second person (the responder) then neither gets any money.

Known as an ultimatum game, this kind of set-up is frequently studied by economists but for the first time the CAGE experiment introduced an element of inequality via an increasingly-biased rigged lottery to decide who becomes the proposer, the stronger of the two positions.

It makes sense that when people see clear-cut unfairness, they are less likely to accept it - and this was shown in the results.

When the opportunity to become the proposer was 50 per cent i.e completely fair responders on average rejected an offer by the proposer of 2.15 or less. And when the chance of becoming the proposer was rigged at 0 per cent i.e complete inequality responders rejected offers of 2.96 or less.

But when just a one per cent chance of becoming a proposer was introduced - i.e the lottery was still vastly rigged biased in the proposer's favour - responders rejected offers of 2.53 or less.

In other words the difference between having absolutely no chance and having just a one per cent chance was valued at 43p (2.96 - 2.53) proportionally much larger than the 38p value (2.53 - 2.15) given to the gap between 1 and 50 per cent.

Dr Eugenio Proto, Associate Professor of Economics at the University of Warwick, said he was surprised to discover this quirk in human decision-making.

"When you look at it rationally, it makes no sense that people are placing such a disproportionate value on that first one per cent increase in opportunity.

"But that slight increase in fairness seems to have some kind of symbolic meaning.

"It appears people are happy to accept extreme inequality when they have this tiny carrot dangled in front of them.

"We've got to remember that our experiments are conducted in a lab at a university, not in the real world which is far more complex.

"But these results could shed light on why people living in unequal societies aren't more vocal in rejecting unfairness.

"It seems that even if people believe they have just the tiniest of chances to become the next Bill Gates, it's enough to keep them tolerant of obvious inequality."

Anirban Kar of the Delhi School of Economics, one of the other two co-authors, added: "It makes sense that when people see clear-cut unfairness in the system, they are more likely to reject an unequal outcome than if the same outcome was generated by a fair system. "Participation in the system, surprisingly enough, even a symbolic one (a modicum of voice) seems to have a significant impact".

Fla. Insurance Officials To State Farm: Stop The Bullying ? CBS Miami

TALLAHASSEE (CBSMiami/NSF) ? State insurance officials refuse to let insurance companies bully you with high-priced rental insurance.

On Wednesday, the officials teamed up with consumer advocates to press State Farm Florida Insurance Co. over a proposed 57.3 percent increase in rental property premiums. The company is pushing the increase despite a lack of new business.

In addition, Florida?s insurance consumer advocate questioned the rationale behind the company?s request to ask policyholders to foot the bill for paying off a $750 million loan made to the Florida subsidiary by its parent company, State Farm Mutual.

The repayment will add an additional 8.5 percent to the parent company?s bottom line and comes in addition to a 16-percent profit margin.

State Farm representatives were before the Office of Insurance Regulation to request the rate hike on roughly 33,000 policies for the owners of rental property, including apartment buildings, or single homes that landlords rent out.

The company has about 470,000 total policies in the state, the bulk of which are residential homeowners? policies. With few exceptions, State Farm has not written new policies in several years and has seen its exposure shrink. At one time in had more than 1 million policies and was the state?s largest property insurer.

?In addition to the general concerns of a nearly 58 percent rate increase, is the concern that State Farm has not given any indication that this rate increase will result in them writing any new policies,? said Brian Deffenbaugh, senior counsel for the Office of Insurance Consumer Advocate.

Despite the proposed increase, State Farm actuary Sara Frankowiak said she ?was not aware of any plans? for the company to resume writing policies in the state, but is instead shoring up its financial position.

?We certainly have concerns for the impact that this kind of rate change has on our customers,? Frankowiak said. ?But at the same time, we owe an obligation to all of our customers to make sure we are financially strong and able to pay when the storms come.?

In 2010, State Farm announced it would not renew 125,000 policies. The action came after Florida insurance officials denied a request for a 47 percent increase in homeowners premiums and the company threatened to exit the state altogether.

State Farm is also requesting a 14.9 percent increase in homeowner rates and nearly 28 percent increase in condominium insurance. Those rates are subject to separate rate filings.

Given the company?s presence in Florida, Florida Justice Association representative Reggie Garcia questioned why multiple rate hearings weren?t being conducted around the state, noting the lack of public participation.

?Why aren?t we having public hearings at least in three or four major urban areas on this issue? No one is here,? Garcia said. ?That is your prerogative, but what you obligated to do is different from what you should do.?

In response, OIR General Counsel Belinda Miller said the agency used to travel around the state seeking comment but policyholders often didn?t show up. In addition, most of the legal issues between the state and State Farm have been settled in court so both parties are pretty sure where they stand on the issue.

The statewide 57.3 percent rate hike for rental property owners varies greatly depending on the territory. Rates in Duval County would increase from $695 to $1,065, an increase of 53.3 percent. Orange County rates would jump 60.7 percent, or $720. Miami-Dade County policies would increase 110 percent to $6,008. In Monroe County, where State Farm insures just four properties, the rates would rise from $4,857 to $14,411.

The News Service of Florida contributed to this report.

Britain awards 4.5 billion pounds trains deal to Hitachi

LONDON/TOKYO (Reuters) - Britain has approved a 4.5 billion pound ($7 billion) contract with a consortium led by Japan's Hitachi to build 92 intercity trains at a newly-built factory in northern England, in a deal which will create more than 900 UK jobs.

The Agility consortium, made up by Hitachi and British construction company John Laing, has long been the preferred bidder for the contract, which the Japanese firm had originally hoped to seal by December 2009.

Hitachi will assemble 596 railway carriages at the factory to be sited in County Durham in north east England, Britain's Department for Transport said on Wednesday.

The deal will create 730 skilled jobs at the factory, with a further 200 jobs during the site's construction, said British Transport Secretary Justine Greening.

The company will also locate its European rail research and development facilities at the site, a move which would enhance the factory's ability to win further rail contracts across Europe, Britain's Department for Transport said.

The contract has been seen as key to Hitachi's ability to break the dominance of Germany's Siemens, Canada's Bombardier and France's Alsthom in the global railway market.

Hitachi said it aimed to begin production as early as 2016 at a rate of 35 rail cars per month.

The trains will replace existing diesel-powered trains dateing back to the 1970s and 1980s. The new rolling stock will be a mixture of all-electric and "bi-mode" diesel-electric trains.

Fun Activities for Preschool Students

The preschool years are some of the most important times in a child?s life. This is when they are able to learn all of the basic information and foundational skills that will help them to succeed when they become older. They learn their alphabet, numbers, colors and a number of other things. Because of their short attention spans, teachers must find creative ways to keep them involved and interested in their lessons. Often times instructors will use rhymes, songs or games. Although all of these things are great and effective, there are a number of other activities that can help preschool students learn while having fun at the same time.

For example, a teacher can set up a group activity that allows the students to work together. They can be promised and given a reward at the end of their project. This will allow them to stay focused to achieve their goal. So, imagine if a teacher wants to do an activity that involves the alphabet. She can challenge the students to create an artistic image of each letter. Each group of children could be responsible for certain letters. At the end of the project all of the letters could be put, in order, onto the classroom wall. Therefore, instead of the students having to refer to the regular store-bought poster, when they need help with their alphabets, they can reference their very own work.

Preschool students can also have fun learning things like science. Of course, students in this particular age group won?t be learning anything complex. However, there are important things they can be taught like how to identify grass, trees, dirt, the sky and the clouds. So, instead of them being taught these things indoors, the teacher can take them on an outdoor adventure. The good thing is that the students won?t even have to leave the school grounds to identify any of the aforementioned things. It could be done right in the front yard or even on the playground.

Not only will this allow students to get out of the classroom for a while, but it will also allow them to identify some of the things nature has to offer firsthand. This will most likely keep them interested, which means that they will pay more attention. Therefore, they will more than likely retain more information.
To some, teaching preschool students can seem boring and mundane. This is probably due to the fact that the instructor is teaching well below his or her own educational level. However, it doesn?t have to be this way. Teaching younger students is not only be rewarding, but it is also be enjoyable.

Choosing the right preschool surprise az can be pretty difficult. Look up http://www.montessoriofsurprise.com. and be amazed!

Oil above $90 in Asia for first time since May

BANGKOK ?

Oil rose above $90 a barrel in Asia for the first time since May after the U.S. government said oil demand is on the rise and regional stock markets rebounded on strong earnings and improved U.S. economic data.

Benchmark crude was up 47 cents at $90.34 a barrel at midday Bangkok time in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange. The contract rose 65 cents to settle at $89.87 per barrel in New York on Wednesday. Brent crude was up 76 cents at $105.92 a barrel on the ICE futures exchange in London.

The Energy Information Administration reported that average oil demand increased last week in the U.S. for the third week in a row. Oil demand had been down most of the year, when compared with 2011, as manufacturing activity slowed and drivers cut back on travel.

EIA's weekly petroleum report also noted a surprise drop in gasoline supplies last week as refineries pulled back on production. Oil supplies also fell, though the drop was less than what analysts expected.

Oil is likely to remain near $90 in the near term due to the signs of improving demand in the EIA report, energy analysts at the The Schork Group said in a report.

Also helping sentiment in the oil market were gains in Asian stock markets after strong earnings from IBM and Ebay and a Commerce Department report that U.S. home builders broke ground last month on the most homes and apartments in nearly four years.

In other futures trading, heating oil was up 0.8 cent to $2.885 a gallon and gasoline added 0.7 cent to $2.782 a gallon. Natural gas fell 1.8 cent to $2.955 per 1,000 cubic feet.

Audi Reconfirms Del Torchio as Ducati CEO

Audi Reconfirms Gabriele Del Torchio as Ducati CEO Gabriele Del Torchio Ducati 635x954

With the acquisition of Ducati Motor Holding by Audi AG, the German car manufacturer was bound to do some shuffling in the Italian motorcycle company?s executive ranks. Announcing that it has formed a new Board of Directors, Audi CEO Rupert Stadler has unsurprisingly been name President of the Board, while Horst Glaser and Axel Strotbek (best names ever) from Audi have also been given seats on the Ducati?s Board.

Giving Audi AG a 3-to-2 controlling interest of over Ducati?s Board of Directors, the new board is also comprised of Gabriele Del Torchio and Claudio Domenicali. In an interesting move, Del Torchio has been reconfirmed by the new Board of Directors as CEO of Ducati Motor Holding, with Audi also appointing the Italian to the Board of Directors at Automobili Lamborghini SpA.

The two appointments are a vote of confidence by Audi?s management in the work that Gabriele Del Torchio has done at Ducati, as well as the work done by General Manager Claudio Domenicali. Clearly, Audi is very impressed with Del Torchio, since they have given him the reigns at Lamborghini as well, and it should be interesting to see what Del Torchio does at the car company, after now seeing his results at Ducati.

An interesting side note, former-CEO of Ducati North America Michael Lock is currently the COO at Lamborghini America. If you recall, Lock left Ducati North America two years ago after a failed attempt to leverage a move from Ducati North America to Ducati Motor Holding in Italy. Despite the less-then-amicable split between Del Torchio and Lock, it appears once again Lock will be Del Torchio?s right-hand man in the Americas, though now for Lamborghini instead of Ducati.

Ray Gagnon: Why Strategic Plans Fail -- And How to Avoid the Pitfalls

It's true that perhaps the biggest "wrap" against investing time and resources in creating a strategic plan is that so many of them simply "gather dust" in three-ring binders, instead of serving as "living" blue-prints for business success.

Here, from our perspective, are some reasons why these pitfalls are real as well as tips on what you can do to avoid them when you develop your strategic plan.

Pitfall #1: The Plan
Sometimes the problem is the plan itself. Over a period of more than twenty years of being invited in to help clients "develop a new plan," we've seen many existing plans that lack the kind of concreteness, "actionability" and accountability that's necessary for a plan to be an effective business management tool. Plans composed of nothing but lofty generalities and aspirations without what we call "arms and legs," that is, concrete initiatives, responsible individuals and timetables, may generate initial enthusiasm. But they usually don't amount to the kind of practical management tool that ensures follow-through action and business improvement.

You can avoid this pitfall by making sure your plan contains concrete, measurable initiatives or projects -- we call them "Tactics" -- that can be assigned to specific individuals and tagged with specific completion dates. Then, manage to these dates and hold people accountable for "delivering."

Pitfall #2: The Process
Sometimes the problem is the process. Many plans are developed via the "golden eagle" approach, whereby external consultants swoop in, analyze the company and then prescribe their program for future success. Plans developed this way risk not generating much internal ownership on the part of the very people who must "make it happen," namely, the senior executive team and the workforce.

Avoid this pitfall by making sure that you and your executive team are deeply involved in all aspects of the planning process even if you bring in outside consultants. Conduct your own assessment of your current state -- we call it an "environmental scan" -- and formulate and voice your own opinions about the direction the company should take as part of the process. Instead of a "golden eagle," consider hiring an external consultant who is qualified to lead and "facilitate" the planning process but who maintains a "neutral" third-party role toward the content, ensuring that you define the substance of your plan and direction of your company.

Sometimes though, even when plans are developed this way, not enough people are involved in the process. Some executives view strategic planning as the exclusive purview of only the very senior-most executives -- what we call "planning in a closet." Since people are always less likely to support something they had nothing to do with, planning exclusively at "the top of the house" compounds the challenge of getting "buy-in" later.

To avoid this pitfall, go beyond your executive team. Involve and get input from strong performers, high-potentials and thought leaders elsewhere in the company. Give them a chance not only to react to tentative planning assumptions but also to input fresh planning ideas. Since nothing breeds commitment like involvement, plans that result from this approach start out with a much broader base of support than those that are hatched "in the closet" by a chosen few.

The fact that individuals well beyond the executive team can rightfully call the result "our plan" builds ownership for the plan as it's developing and makes mobilizing the entire enterprise easier later on. In this way, you significantly reduce the chances that your plan will fall by the wayside once it's completed.

Pitfall #3: The People
Finally, we have to admit that sometimes the problem is the people. Strange as it may seem, after all the effort and expense of developing a strategic plan, we have seen CEOs and executive teams simply fail to follow through in keeping the plan front-and-center and making it a visible, living blueprint for business-improving behavior and action. There are many reasons for this: unexpected, changing priorities, the challenges of "running the day-to-day business," etc., etc. But sometimes there seems to be a more fundamental cause. We'll simply call it the wrong "mindset."

Some senior executives seem to approach strategic planning as a "chore," a grudging obligation vs. the all-important dialogue about the shared destiny of the company that it truly is. There is a huge difference between these two attitudes. One is just "punching your ticket." The other approaches planning with some "fire in the belly" and recognizes that it can make the difference between "business as usual" and business transformation.

Frankly, this pitfall is difficult for even the most competent external consultants to overcome. If you're not motivated about controlling your destiny by defining and aspiring to a better future for you and your company, it's going to be difficult for anyone else to motivate you.

Our recommendation for avoiding this pitfall? Stop and think. Think of how critical this is. Consider that we acknowledge the importance of goal-setting in every aspect of life: academics, athletics, etc. We want our children to be goal-driven and goal-achievers. Same goes for our enterprises.

Changing your mindset toward planning as well as, again, heeding our recommendation (above) to involve larger numbers of people in the planning process are the best hedges against this pitfall as well. As one expert has said, you need to start "small fires" that gradually become "bigger fires." You want the fire of enthusiasm for the roadmap you've laid out for your company to grow large enough to sustain itself over time. You want it to inspire more and more people in your enterprise to act in accordance with this roadmap.

In this context, then, the bigger the fire, the harder it will be to put out. Once you harness the power of "ordinary people" to do "extraordinary things" in service of your shared future, you won't need to worry that your plan will be gathering dust on a shelf!

Brussels Slates Romania's Commitment to Reform :: Balkan Insight

The EU has serious doubts about Romania?s commitments to reforming the judiciary and respecting the principles of democracy, according to a preliminary copy of a report to be published on Wednesday by the European Commission.

The damning report said that recent steps by Victor Ponta's government to impeach President Traian Basescu "raise serious concern with regard to observing the key principles of democracy.

"Political challenges to court rulings, the undermining of the Constitutional Court, the reversal of established procedures and the suppression of key elements of democratic control put in question the government's... respect for the supremacy of the law and independent judicial supervision," it added.

The report's critical tone suggests that the European Commission will want to continue its current monitoring of judicial reforms in Romania and Bulgaria, a process set up to combat fraud in the EU newcomers.

Analysts say it is now more than likely that the Commision will prolong its monitoring of Romania?s justice system.

?There are no reasons at this stage to abandon the monitoring mechanism, as Bucharest has failed to comply with most of EU requirements aimed at combating corruption and imposing the rule of law.

"Furthermore, the recent decision of the [Ponta-led] ruling coalition in its dispute with the President raises also many questions, ? political analyst Marian Trifu said.

Parliament voted on July 6 to suspend Traian Basescu as President for 30 days and established July 29 as the day of a referendum in the next stage of a campaign to impeach him.

The planned removal of the President has drawn criticism from European capitals and local human rights groups, partly because the government has used a series of controversial emergency decrees, curbing the powers of the Constitutional Court to intervene, and also changing the referendum law.

Prime Minister Ponta, leader of the centre-left ruling coalition, has accused Basescu of blocking government reforms, of abusing his position to grant favours to his allies and of interfering in the judicial system.

Romania, which joined the European Union in 2007, has been under constantly evaluation by the European Commission, which aims to ensure the justice system is up to implementing EU laws.

But Romania is still considered one of the most corrupt states in the European Union and has made only limited progress in fighting corruption and organised crime since 2007. Bucharest has drawn repeated criticism from the European Commission for its failure to tackle corruption more effectively.

Intel reports Q2 earnings: rakes in $13.5 billion, pockets $2.8 billion

Intel reports Q2 earnings

Intel is back to its old games in Q2 of 2012, raking in $13.5 billion during the second three month financial period of the year, up from $12.9 billion in the first quarter and a solid five percent year over year. Of that impressive pile of cash, Chipzilla was able to pocket $2.8 billion in net income, up $100,000 from Q1 and three percent from the same time period last year. That equates to a healthy $0.57 per share in earnings, which should make investors happy. PC Client Group enjoyed slow but steady growth, seeing its revenues grow by three percent, but the big story is the Data Center division which saw revenues climb 14 percent to $2.8 billion, sequentially.

It's not all wine and roses however, the processor giant also lowered its expectations for Q3 after falling slightly short of its goal this quarter. Growth is expected to continue, but at a much slower rate thanks to the "challenging macroeconomic environment." Of course, an estimated $14.3 billion in Q3 would match its previous earnings record and is hardly anything to sniff at.

During today's earnings call Paul Otellini took time to brag about well the current generation of products was performing. Production had ramped up quicker than previous lines, and was selling better than earlier lines of CPUs. And, though he gave no specifics, he said the company tracking at least 20 Windows 8 tablets powered by Intel's hardware. The company also said that it credited most of its (admittedly limited) growth in the PC market to reclaiming a tiny sliver of the bottom end from AMD. Otellini also reaffirmed that Clovertrail devices will be on the market just in time to be shoehorned inside Windows 8 tablets at the launch of the OS.

India Interior Minister Chidambaram to visit Pakistan

Karachi: Pakistan?s de facto home minister on Sunday said his Indian counterpart is expected to visit Islamabad in the first week of September.

Rehman Malek, who is adviser to the government on interior affairs after a Supreme Court verdict deprived him of his ministerial status for having dual nationality, told a conference that P.K. Chidambaram will visit here in September.

?Indian interior minister Chidambaram has accepted my invitation to visit Pakistan and he will visit here in the first week of September? Malek said.

The visit would mend the fences between the two archrivals which have fought four wars on the disputed territories whereas terrorists operations have brought them on the verge of war several time.

?The accused of Mumbai terrorist attacks attempted to created deep rift and tension between Pakistan and India,? Malek said.

?But this blame game should be ended as in the terrorist attack of five bomb blasts the local terrorists were involved,? he said addressing the Pak-India Social Media Forum participants.

In May, the Indian top official of interior ministry visited Islamabad and held talks with his Pakistani peer. Analysts believed that the meetings have already prepared groundwork for the ministerial meetings.

Between other crucial issues, the upcoming ministerial visit could seal a liberal visa regime between the two countries.

Signing of new visa regime was shelved in the May meeting as both the side suggested that such a historic accord should be signed on political levels.

The Pakistani adviser told the participants of the conference that the extremism was

The most crucial issue the global village was faced with in current era.

Malek was of the view that both India and Pakistan were faced with cyber crimes and the internet was an effective tool for the terrorists for contacting each other.

He also emphasised the need of regulating the social media which, he said, was causing pollution on moral and other grounds.
